Description

Situated in a small, rural community with approximately 1000 inhabitants, the project’s program called for a 1600-square foot children’s library for the local community. Facing the enormous task of designing and delivering a building in a short six-week work period, the visiting students composed a simple and expressive scheme that used unit masonry and curved forms. Additionally, the composition of clear building diagrams paired with the incorporation of skilled artists in residence allowed the team to exhibit more finished elements than in any of their previous projects while taking considerably less time to build.
